Julie Joinette was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. She grew up participating in several athletic activities including swimming, skiing, skating, soccer, hockey, martial arts, dance and more. She is proud to have achieved a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She is well training in many styles including, highland, tap, jazz, ballet, musical theatre and hip hop. She has continued to train in dance, attending workshops and classes in and around Ottawa as well as training with her performance troupe TRAPT. Her passion to help her dancers improve, resulted in her getting her personal training certification and fitness instructor certification through Can Fit Pro in 2008. She then flourished in the fitness industry teaching class for the City of Ottawa, running dance fit programs, kick boxing, stretch classes, circuit training, boot camps and more. She developed a love of training women, while instructing a boot camp with Booty Camp Fitness. Her love for helping others achieve their fitness goals drove her to develop a lifestyle coaching business as director of Top Rock Dance and Fitness. One of her new found passions is helping clients with Cystic Fibrosis maintain a healthier lifestyle, in memory of her sister Emilie, who passed away from the disease in 2009. She continues to train individuals who wish to achieve a healthier lifestyle through her personal training, boot camps, fitness classes, lifestyle coaching and dance. She now enjoys bringing a higher level of fitness to the industry, helping patrons gain the strength, agility and flexibility required for their training. Every year, Julie continues to search for more opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills so she can then pass the information along to those she coaches.
My name is Ana, and I live in Dead Man's Flats in Alberta. I love teaching Zumba classes! I have been dancing since the age of 4, and have been featured in the Broadway National Tour: "The Wizard of Oz". I fell in love with Zumba when attending a class in one of my off show nights. The blend of latin dance rhythms and working out speaks to my soul as a Brazilian Latina and work out junkie. I have two lovely children aged 5 and 3 who, like their mama, also love to spend their time outside hiking, playing music and trying new delicious foods. I can't wait to samba, salsa and tone those muscles with you! Come and join me, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Available to teach in English and French.
My introduction to dance began at Almonte Academy of Dance when I was three years old. I then moved to Kanata and started dancing at Linda Jamieson’s School of Dance from the age of five to twelve. I first started dancing competitively with Linda Jamieson School of Dance at the age of nine. I moved to Capital City Dance where I danced competitively regionally and nationally in many genres including both routines and solos. I applied to the dance program at Canterbury High School and was accepted for Grade 9. I graduated from Canterbury High School in 2017. I studied ballet with RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) all my life but have taken a few classes with other ballet types through the years. With Capital City Dance, I’ve danced at different fundraising concerts including Bust A Move for breast cancer and Dancers Give Back. Dance is my passion and saviour! I hope to keep dancing and sharing my love of dance with others.
