TRAPT Drop-in with Amanda Leclaire

Service Description

Amanda LeClaire, has been dancing since she was 3 years old. After completing her training in all disciplines as a competitive dancer, Amanda went on to dance in New York, assisting acclaimed teacher Michelle Barber of Broadway Dance Centre. After training in various places around the globe such as LA, NYC, Australia, Toronto, and Montreal, she went on to dance with Carnival Cruise Lines, Ottawa's contemporary company Karma Dance Theatre, Sapphire Dance Company, Odyssey Showcase, and Culture Shock. Her credits also include dancing for Benny Benassi, Steve Angelo, Armen Van Buuren, and Diplo! Amanda now has a passion for choreographing, and her award-winning choreography has been showcased at local charity events such as Rogers House, the Chance2Dance Gala, Bash Noir, and Bust A Move. She now travels throughout school boards in Ontario, B.C, and Northern Canada with the company Luv2Groove, providing educational dance programs for students of all ages and abilities! And in her 'spare time,' you'll find her MC'ing and judging at dance competitions! Amanda also discovered the benefits of yoga while recovering from hip surgery at the age of 20. It helped her heal mentally and physically, and loved the way it complimented her dancing so much that she attained her 200hr RYT Hatha and Yoga Tune Up certification. She offers Yoga4Dancers workshops and has been featured at the Toronto Dance Teacher Expo where she educated fellow teachers on preventing/treating dance-related injuries through the art of self-massage. Please bring water, indoor shoes and comfortable attire.
